How does the order process work?
Online orders - the web site will calculate the total value of your order.
Telephone
and email enquiries - We provide you with a quote (on the telephone or
by email). Once you confirm the quote, we raise an
invoice which is sent to you (usually by email), and process your order. Process for custom models?
Please email us for a simple outline of the Custom build process.
To
complement our Premier Service, we offer our clients the opportunity to
have their own unique ship models custom built to their own
specifications. In order to deliver a high quality professional ship
model, we require ship production plans, drawings and / or detailed
pictures of the ship, boat or yacht to be built.
The initial information we need is the same for all custom models.
1. The length of the model yacht / boat.
2. Some pictures or a web site address of the boats and yachts.
3. An idea of the
level of detail required. This usually depends on what the model will
be used for. You can also refer to some of the existing model yachts
(pictures below), as a benchmark.
4. Whether it is a half model or full model yacht?
5. An indication of the amount of information you currently have (plans / pictures / drawings)?
6. An indication of budget?
7. An indication of delivery timescale?
8. Any other pertinent information.
We also provide a research service where we source the plans / drawings
/ pictures of the yachts and boats. This is optional, and the client
can choose to provide all the required information.
We will then provide you with a quote together with delivery timescale.
Once agreed, the quote and delivery date for your custom ship
model is fixed, giving you peace of mind. Typically the duration between a confirmed order and delivery is 12-16 weeks.
We will then complete a Client Specification Document (CSD) which needs to be signed off by the client. This agrees the scope of the work for the benefit of both parties. We then take a 50% deposit, and start working on your model yacht or boat.
Typically we provide our client professional pictures
of their model yachts or boats at the three-quarter build stage, and
when the models are completed. It is ONLY when the final pictures are
approved that we request final payments and despatch your model yacht. The
examples of ship models and boat models below is only meant to give you
an indication of our versatility and a brief history of our production
capacity and quality. To date, we have custom built ship models for
private individuals, museums, TV production companies, shipping
companies and other corporates.
Other model ships that we have previously custom built are now included in our gold and platinum range.
